Journey to almost the top of the world

In April the Canadian military had a sovereignty exercise, Operation Nunalivut, in the High Arctic, that also involved Danish sled dogs. (I just accidentally found this post.) We took some media types up for the day. For the first night we were supposed to overnight in Resolute Bay, but due to weather ended up staying in Eureka on Ellesmere Island. From what I read, it's a very interesting area geologically and apparently very nice in the summer. I would like to go there one day and have enough time to hike around, there are tent rings and also a fossil forest close by.

Pictures really don't do Ellesmere Island justice, but here are some anyway...Eureka has it's own Post Office, me on the wing fuelling, northernmost Steinway piano, some equipment for Polar Environment Atmospheric Research Laboratory (PEARL), the veggie patch? And the view from the top of the wing down the fjord.
